Meet the Chef

Executive Chef Neil Dandekar was born and raised outside of Los Angeles and was exposed to a variety of cultures and foods from a young age. After graduating in 2002 from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, Neil went on to work at various restaurants and resorts in Los Angeles and Orange County. In 2005, Neil helped open a small restaurant in Riverside, CA called Restaurant Omakase. In 2007, Neil joined the culinary team for the Resort at Pelican Hill as Sous Chef for the Pelican Grill. From there Neil moved to The Grand Del Mar working as Senior Sous Chef in both the restaurant Amaya and Banquets. In 2016, Neil transitioned to work for Evolution Hospitality and became the Executive Chef of Hilton San Diego Mission Valley. In Neil’s own words, “I am most passionate about local foods and working with the best product available at the time, and being in San Diego you are lucky to have so much available at your fingertips.”
